SIVIPA celebrates the fiftieth anniversary with wine dinner in the cellar

Sivipa celebrated its fiftieth anniversary in Palmela, with a dinner served in the cellar, Saturday 29 November 2014. Among the guests were the Mayor of Palmela and the President of the Setúbal Peninsula Wine Region CVR that highlighted the contribution of this producer to the region. The event made the cover of Diário da Região newspaper.

Sivipa was established in 1964 by a group of winemakers Palmela region who joined efforts to market their wines, from the bulk sale to more valued bottled wines. In the 90s Cardoso family strengthened the company, which benefited greatly from their 400 ha of vineyards. In recent years Sivipa has been recognized with important national and international awards.

In 2014 the Company celebrates its fiftieth anniversary, celebrated Saturday November 29 with a wine dinner served at the winery by professionals of the Professional School of Moita, under the guidance of chef Tiago Santos.

Led by winemaker Filipe Cardoso, Sivipa honored its two living founders, Horacio Simões and Semião Soares. The president of the Wine Commission of Setúbal peninsula, Henrique Soares pointed out that "very happy is a wine country when you have a winery enduring 50 years with this dynamism." The Mayor of Palmela stated that "Companies like Sivipa have been an asset to our tourism," for their strategy and vision. Recently Sivipa has been modernizing its image and innovative marketing, which has aroused the curiosity of consumers.

In the last 3 years Sivipa has invested in the international markets, with contacts in Angola, Poland, China, Switzerland and Germany and the company expects to achieve 50% of international market share in the next 10 years.
