Ameias Syrah elected "Best Red Wine from Setúbal Peninsula" 2014

SIVIPA’S Ameias Syrah 2013 has just been awarded "Best Setúbal Peninsula Red Wine" at the XIV Setúbal Peninsula Wine Competition promoted by the Regional Wine Commission.

The award, announced Thursday May 15, 2014 joins the gold prizes collected in a few days, at the Concours Mondial de Bruxeles, Vinalies Internationales, by the Association of Sommeliers of Portugal, and also a mention at the IWC in London, in an extraordinary series of awards. The winners of the XIV Wine Competition of the Setúbal Peninsula Wine Commission promoted by the Region, were revealed 15 May at 19.0, at Palmela Castle. 102 wines of the region were evaluated by a jury of experts from various Portuguese wine regions, the Portuguese Association of Enology, Association of Sommeliers of Portugal and ASAE, trade press and representatives of the restoration, totalling 22 tasters. The procedure followed the recommendations of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV ) and won this year's ranking of the Official Contest IVV IP classification that few wine contests hold in Portugal.

In recent years, SIVIPA’s varietals have been awarded around the world. In this new collection 2013 highlights the Syrah, which just also get 90 points from AEP - Association of Sommeliers of Portugal, receiving prestigious award Tambuladeira de Ouro. This is the more extraordinary as the positioning of SIVIPA is to share the best of Palmela region at affordable prices.
